New Director at MSC
Clare Power MSc, BSc (Hons), DipHE, MIRCA, MFSPA, MIOSH,
Clare is currently reading for a PhD with Teagasc and has delivered her research at conferences nationally, including conferences held by Safefood and National Dairy Council. She holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Health & Safety Management and has obtained a wealth of experience in Risk Management as a result. Her background is in Food Safety and Quality Management Systems and is a registered Lead Auditor with IRCA (International Register of Certified Auditors). Other professional bodies Clare holds active membership of include, FSPA (Food Safety Professional Association), where she was instrumental in their success in obtaining ISO9001:2008 status.
Within Food Safety, she was employed by Kerry Foods Ltd., (Beef Division) for a number of years and has worked as both Auditor and Consultant, from Food Processing to Catering for twenty years. Clare is also a registered Trainer with both FAS and EHOA and conducts Food Safety Training and Internal Auditing for various nationwide clients including RehabCare.
As a Quality Systems Lead Auditor, the Management Systems that she works to would include: BRC Level 6, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000:2005, I.S. 340/341:2007 and various Bord Bia Standards. Clare audits all types of Industry, from SME’s to Multinational Companies for both Quality and Food Safety Standards. In addition she is a PSA Registered Auditor for Security Firms to IS 999:2004
2011/12 also saw Clare representing DIT (Dublin Institute of Technology) as a food safety expert in a series of International Seminars in Romania.
